How do I know this? I don’t even know how you’re deworming your horses, but chances are if you are reading this, it’s true. New deworming recommendations were released in 2013 by the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), and they contain guidelines that are vastly different from what the equine industry has been doing for the past four decades. During this time, the ideal way to deworm horses was thought to be “Rotational Deworming,” or switching up the drug used each time you deworm, and deworming roughly 6-8 weeks.
